WARRIORS IN THE NEWS

.................................
Almost time for some Warriors Basketball!!
In 2011 Basketball, Warriors Varsity Boys were Area Champs, and
Varsity Lady Warriors clinched the title of District Champs! Awesome!!

2011 Baseball: Warriors finished with the District, Regional and Area Championships, and fought their way to the final four tournament in Waco.  In the end, we were undefeated until the final game, finishing as runner-up.  Our guys were champions, on and off the field--we're so proud of you!

Making RCA History: Varsity Lady Warrior is SAGU-Bound!
On Friday, December 10th, RCA Senior Brittany Griffin signed a letter of intent with Southwestern Assembly of God University, as family and fellow students gathered in support and celebration.
As RCA Athletic Director Caleb Palmer welcomed all the attendees in the high school lobby, he made a special point to acknowledge that she is the first Girls' Varsity Basketball player to actually sign with a College team.
"She should be very proud of her efforts--she has worked very hard," remarked Coach Turner, head coach for the Girl's Basketball team at RCA.   "But we should also recognize that it was her hard work in the classroom, too, that gave her this opportunity.  We would not be standing here if it weren't for the effort she put into the classroom, as well as on the court."
Brittany currently maintains a 3.78 GPA, in spite of her athletic obligations, being active in church, and serving as a volunteer in a number of outreach organizations.
By the end of the day, Miss Griffin's FaceBook page was full of congratulations, as well as her proud parents Tom and Stacey Griffin of Rockwall.
